About Elaine Thompson

Elaine Thompson-Herah is a Jamaican track and field sprinter who was born on June 28, 1992, in Manchester Parish, Jamaica. She is 5’6″ tall and weighs 132 pounds. She is known for her speed and power, and she is considered to be one of the greatest sprinters of all time.

Thompson-Herah rose to prominence at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where she won gold medals in the 100 meters (10.71 seconds) and the 200 meters (21.78 seconds). She became the first woman to win the Olympic sprint double since Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988.

Thompson-Herah continued her success in 2020, winning gold medals in the 100 meters (10.61 seconds), the 200 meters (21.53 seconds), and the 4×100 meters relay at the Tokyo Olympics. She also set a new Olympic record in the 100 meters.
