Hello everyone, you will find best black DC villains and some information about their abilities and background story that make them some of the best black supervillains in the entire DC universe, yes, I am including comic books, games, tv shows, everything.
Some of my favorite comic book characters come from this list and I think DC has done a way better job with their black supervillains compared to Marvel’s black Supervillains which were hard for me to even put a list together for, eish. Anyway, I think most of you will agree with my list, of course yes I did leave out some of your favorites but once you get through this list you might forgive me and understand why I chose these select few. Background Story:
Vandal Savage, real name “Vandar Adg,” was born 50,000 years ago in prehistoric times. A former caveman, he was bathed in the radiation of a mysterious meteorite that crashed near his home, which endowed him with immortality, superior physical attributes, and intellectual advancements. Over millennia, he has assumed various influential roles and identities, often serving as a ruthless and cunning adversary to many heroes in the DC Universe.
Savage used his immortality to travel the world and learn about different cultures. He became a master of many different skills, including combat, science, and politics. He also developed a deep understanding of human nature.
With a healthy thirst for power and control, he helped shape many historical events from behind the scenes, manipulating civilization’s course to his advantage.
Lex Luthor
Power & Abilities:
- Genius-Level Intellect: Luthor is one of the smartest humans in the DC Universe. He’s a master strategist and inventor, able to create complex technological devices and formulate intricate plans.
- Technological Innovation: He’s developed advanced technology, including various weapon systems, robots, and even power suits that can go toe-to-toe with superpowered beings.
- Wealth and Resources: As the head of LexCorp, Luthor has access to nearly limitless financial resources and a vast corporate empire, which he uses to fund his plans.
- Leadership: He’s an experienced leader, both in his corporation and at times, in supervillain organizations like the Legion of Doom.

The self-made billionaire, he’s the owner of LexCorp, a massive multinational corporation.
Luthor’s genius-level intellect and vast resources make him a formidable adversary, despite his lack of superhuman abilities. Obsessed with human excellence and deeply resentful of beings with superpowers, particularly Superman, Luthor views the Man of Steel’s power as a deterrent to human progress, as people become too reliant on superheroes.
Lex Luthor often resorts to criminal activities and unethical scientific experiments to achieve his goals, but he is also skilled at maintaining a positive perception from the public because he still employees millions of people world wide under his company LexCorp and he even served as President of the United States at one point in the comics.
Amanda Waller
Power & Abilities:
- Genius-level intellect: Waller is a brilliant strategist and tactician. She has a PhD in political science and is an expert in military and intelligence matters.
- Ruthless and manipulative: Waller is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, even if it means bending or breaking the rules. She is also a master manipulator and is skilled at getting people to do what she wants.
- Leadership skills: Waller is an excellent leader. She is able to inspire and motivate her subordinates, and she is able to make tough decisions under pressure.
- Hand-to-hand combat: Waller is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and is able to hold her own against even the most skilled opponents.
- Firearms: Waller is an expert marksman and is proficient in the use of a variety of firearms.
- Explosives: Waller is skilled in the use of explosives and is able to create and detonate bombs with ease.
Background Story:
Amanda Waller was born in the crime-ridden Cabrini-Green housing projects in Chicago. She witnessed her mother’s murder at a young age, and this experience shaped her into a ruthless and determined woman. Waller excelled in school and went on to earn a doctorate in political science. She then worked as a congressional aide, where she developed a reputation for being a hard-nosed and efficient negotiator.
In the early 1980s, Waller was approached by the government to create a black ops team of supervillains. Waller agreed, and she formed the Suicide Squad. The Suicide Squad was a controversial team, but it was also effective. Waller led the Suicide Squad on numerous missions, and she was eventually promoted to the position of Director of A.R.G.U.S., a government agency that specializes in black ops missions.
Waller is a complex and controversial figure. She is a brilliant strategist and tactician, but she is also ruthless and manipulative. She has been known to bend or break the rules in order to get the job done, and she has even been accused of war crimes.
Black Adam
Power & Abilities:
- Stamina of Shu: Black Adam has virtually unlimited stamina, allowing him to fight for extended periods of time without tiring.
- Speed of Heru: Black Adam is incredibly fast, able to move at speeds comparable to Superman.
- Strength of Amon: Black Adam is incredibly strong, able to lift and throw objects weighing hundreds of tons.
- Wisdom of Zehuti: Black Adam is extremely intelligent, with a vast knowledge of history, science, and magic.
- Power of Aten: Black Adam is able to control lightning and channel its energy into his attacks.
- Courage of Mehen: Black Adam is incredibly courageous, never backing down from a fight, no matter how dangerous it may be.
Background Story:
Teth-Adam was a slave in ancient Kahndaq who was chosen by the wizard Shazam to become his champion. Adam was granted the powers of six Egyptian gods: Shu (stamina), Heru (speed), Amon (strength), Zehuti (wisdom), Aten (power), and Mehen (courage). He became known as Black Adam, and used his powers to rule Kahndaq with an iron fist.
However, Adam’s rule was not without its critics. One of his most vocal opponents was Prince Khufu, who would later become the superhero Hawkman. Adam eventually banished Khufu and his allies, and Kahndaq entered a period of peace.
However, Adam’s peace was not to last. He was eventually tricked into killing a child, and the wizard Shazam stripped him of his powers. Adam was banished to another dimension, where he remained for centuries.
In the present day, Adam was released from his banishment by a group of archeologists. He returned to Kahndaq and reclaimed his throne. However, he was not the same man he once was. He was now driven by a desire for revenge, and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
Black Manta
Power & Abilities:
- Peak Human Conditioning: Black Manta is in top physical condition, possessing strength, speed, agility, and endurance at the peak of human capabilities.
- Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: He is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, trained in multiple forms of martial arts.
- Expert Marksman: He has an exceptional aim with his energy blasts and traditional firearms.
- Master Diver: As an undersea mercenary, Black Manta is an expert in diving and swimming, capable of surviving at extreme ocean depths.
- Tactical Genius: Black Manta is a highly skilled strategist and tactician, known for planning and executing complex operations.

Hyde was born in Key West, Florida, to a poor family. His father was a fisherman who was killed by a shark while out at sea. Hyde vowed revenge on the shark, and he eventually became a skilled underwater combatant. He also developed a hatred for Aquaman, whom he saw as a symbol of the ocean that had taken his father away from him.
Hyde first encountered Aquaman when he tried to steal a submarine from a research facility. Aquaman intervened, and Hyde was defeated. However, he vowed to get revenge on Aquaman, and he began to develop advanced technology that would allow him to fight Aquaman on equal terms.
Hyde eventually returned to challenge Aquaman, and he has been a recurring enemy ever since. He has used his advanced technology to attack Aquaman and his allies, and he has even killed Aquaman’s wife, Mera.
Bloodsport
Power & Abilities:

Robert DuBois is a Vietnam veteran who became a mercenary after his brother was drafted to fight in the war in his place. DuBois is a skilled marksman and hand-to-hand combatant, and he is also an expert in explosives and weapons technology. He is a ruthless and violent individual, and he is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.
DuBois was born in 1965 in a small town in Georgia. He was raised by a single mother, and he had a difficult childhood. He was often bullied because of his race, and he turned to violence as a way to cope with his anger.
When DuBois was 18 years old, he was drafted into the Vietnam War. He served for two years, and he saw firsthand the horrors of war. He witnessed the death and destruction, and he came to believe that violence was the only way to solve problems.
After the war, DuBois returned to the United States and became a mercenary. He worked for various criminal organizations, and he carried out a number of dangerous and illegal missions. He became known for his ruthlessness and his skill with weapons.
Tobias Whale
Power & Abilities:
- Physical strength: Whale is physically strong, and is able to defeat multiple opponents in hand-to-hand combat. He has been shown to be able to strangle and lift into the air a full-grown man like Joey Toledo with a single hand, as well as snap and break a man’s back from the sheer pressure of his hug. He was also able to punch Latavious Johnson back a considerable distance.
- Durability: Whale is very durable, and is able to withstand gunfire and other forms of physical harm. He has been shot multiple times and has only been slightly injured. He has also been shown to be able to withstand explosions and falls from great heights.
- Intelligence: Whale is intelligent and cunning, and is able to outmaneuver his opponents. He is a skilled strategist and tactician, and is able to plan and execute complex operations.
- Leadership: Whale is a skilled leader, and is able to motivate and inspire his followers. He is able to build strong and loyal relationships with his subordinates.
- Wealth: Whale is very wealthy, and uses his money to fund his criminal activities. He has access to a vast network of resources, including weapons, technology, and manpower.

Tobias Whale was born an albino African American in Freeland, Georgia. He was bullied and ostracized as a child, and this led to him developing a ruthless and ambitious personality. He rose through the ranks of the criminal underworld, and eventually became the leader of The 100, a powerful crime syndicate.
Whale is a cruel and sadistic man who is driven by a desire for power. He has no qualms about using violence or intimidation to get what he wants. He is also a master manipulator, and is able to get people to do his bidding without them even realizing it.
Whale is a major threat to the people of Freeland. He has been responsible for countless deaths and suffering. He is also a thorn in the side of Black Lightning, a superhero who is dedicated to protecting the city.
Bronze Tiger

Background Story:
Bronze Tiger, whose real name is Benjamin Turner, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is a skilled martial artist who has been both a villain and an anti-hero.
Turner was born in Central City, and was raised in a tough neighborhood. He was often bullied as a child, and this led to him developing a violent temper. When he was 10 years old, he witnessed a burglar attack his parents. He killed the burglar with a knife, and this act of violence left him traumatized.
Turner turned to martial arts in an attempt to control his rage. He trained with some of the best martial artists in the world, and eventually became one of the most skilled fighters in the DC Universe. He used his skills as a criminal, and became a member of the League of Assassins.
