The 10th Annual Black Business Expo and Summit is just around the corner, set to take place on February 1 and 2 in Anchorage, Alaska. Organized by Jasmin Smith, the event aims to support vendors and celebrate the contributions of Black entrepreneurs, with innovation at the forefront of economic growth and development.
Since its humble beginnings, the expo has undergone a significant transformation. The first year saw a mere 10 entrepreneurs in attendance, a stark contrast to the over 60 vendors expected to participate this year. This exponential growth is a testament to the importance of supporting and empowering Black entrepreneurs.
The expo will feature informational sessions, where industry experts will share valuable insights and knowledge, vendors, showcasing innovative products and services, and guest speakers, offering inspiration and guidance to attendees. This unique combination of networking opportunities and educational resources is expected to be a game-changer for attendees.
According to Smith, the growth of the event can be attributed to its ability to connect Black entrepreneurs with resources and support. "The first year we did not have any vendors. We actually just had businesses convening for training. And it was in a very small room with probably ten entrepreneurs. So to go from one small room with ten people in attendance to have over 50, 60 vendors… it’s a big difference," Smith noted.
As the expo approaches, attendees are eager to take advantage of the numerous opportunities presented. The event’s focus on innovation and economic growth makes it an attractive platform for entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders. With over 60 vendors and industry experts on hand, this year’s expo is set to be the largest and most impactful yet.
In light of this growth, it’s clear that the Black Business Expo and Summit is a crucial platform for the community, fostering economic growth and innovation. With its emphasis on supporting and empowering Black entrepreneurs, the event has established itself as a valuable resource for entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders.
